March, 17, 2014 – City of Three Rivers, MI (pop. 7,811) a Nationally Registered Historic Downtown

The Three Rivers Downtown Development Authority/Main Street Program is accepting applications for a full-time Executive Director. The Director will be responsible for coordinating downtown revitalization activities in the City of Three Rivers, a southwestern Michigan community, using the Main Street Four-Point Approach: Design, Promotion, Economic Restructuring and Organization. Applicants should have education and/or experience in one or more of the following areas: commercial district management, economics, finance, public relations, marketing, land use planning, business administration, public administration, volunteer or non-profit administration, retailing, architecture, historic preservation or small business development. Bachelor’s degree preferred. The Director must be entrepreneurial, energetic, well-organized and capable of functioning in an independent environment. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential. Salary range in the low to mid $30’s, plus benefits.

March 14 (Fri) – Board Approval of Job Description, Timeline, and Posting. Position posted locally, statewide, nationally, online and with Michigan Main Street.

April 11th (Fri) – Job applications and resumes due by 5:00 p.m.

April 15 (Tue) – Selection Committee meets to review applications and choose candidates for 1st round interviews.

April 23 & 24 (Wed & Thur) – 1st round interviews conducted by Selection Committee. Narrow the field of candidates down to 2-4. Begin reference and background checks.

April 25 (Fri) – 2nd round interviews conducted by full DDA Board. Final candidate selected. Employment offer extended.

Week of April 28  – Announcement of new Executive Director

May 2 (Fri) – Regularly scheduled DDA Board Meeting

May 12 (Mon) – DDA Executive Director’s first day on the job.

May 18-21 (Sun-Mon) – National Main Street Conference in Detroit
